AKA screw Covid and get hitched Low Hall style.
It’s been a wild ride this year and one that was never in anyone’s wedding plans, business plans or life plans. What a shit storm.
Without going into all of the incredibly pap things about the year and the emotional stuff surrounding weddings, we've seen some amazing things produced by fellow suppliers. Beautiful work, seriously inspiring styled shoots, new business ideas, all to ensure businesses come out the other end of this and I’ve got to say, we were super chuffed at what our weary heads produced too. This shoot for one. And two, a glorious micro wedding and elopement package for anyone toying with the idea of sticking their fingers up to 2020 and getting hitched – Low Hall style.
THE SHOOT
Collaborating with some of our favourite suppliers, fresh out of lockdown and eager to get creative once again, we created this fairytale day, with relaxed boho vibes and all the elopement loved up feels. Filled with foliage and bursting with love, behind the film is Jono Symonds and behind the images is Joe Mather Photography, we hope you enjoy.
The farmhouse dates back to 1645, there’s history , charm and character in every inch of wall. They’re bloomin' thick walls too! It's more than a little bit special. And we’re not being biased here. It really is magical. At the heart of the house is the library, which is roaring with original features and quirky antiques, making a truly magical setting for many things – the first; your pre wedding dins. Looking dapper below with Wild and Romantics finest china and bronze jewels alongside silks from Ribbon and Thyme and some seriously cool stationary by We Are Fold.
The guest rooms in Low Hall take on their own characters, whether pretty and elegant or dark and sultry, they’re all beautifully designed and all yours. Meaning if there’s just the two of you, you have your pick. Though we’d recommend one of our two honeymoon suites, both complete with dreamy roll top baths & monstrous beds. The room in these pre wedding pics is our newest boudoir to be renovated and I for one am a little bit in love with it with views out over Grisedale Pike and Hope Gill Head.
The light that streams in is just divine, made even more beautiful below by this Willowby Watters dress from the gorgeous Eden Wedding Boutique, the incredible dried flower crown by Folky Dokey and the gorgeous bouquet of seasonal beauties by Cumberland Flower Farm. Add in our gorgeous couple, Henry and Nat, and well it’s just a little bit heavenly. Nat did her own makeup with the help of the brilliant Fionna Whittet via Zoom and had the very talented Claire's Hair Lounge to style around her crown.
Back downstairs, the library was dressed with twinkling candles and the prettiest florals by Cumberland Flower Farm ready for the couple to say 'I do'. The witness? Our main man Lord Basil, wearing his best togs by Tuna and Bear.
Stepping outside into the magical woodland at the back of the farmhouse Wilde and Romantic and The Yummy Pudding Company created a gorgeous setting for two with a cake for 10. My kind of party! Soft hues interweaved with foliage and botanical dreaminess made for a fairytale setting.
After dins the crew headed down to Crummock Water a short drive away for a mega picnic styled by Wilde and Romantic and prepped by The Stonehouse Smokery. Actually prepped doesn’t really do it justice. A picnic; foraged, smoked, seasoned, pickled, peppered and created using the very best local produce from his small farm and other local favourites including the Coffee Kitchen and Thornby Moor Dairy.
The day ended with a lil hike, a dip and wine with our two mega models. Gorgeous Nat and Henry, recently engaged themselves, they certainly made for one loved up and truly emotional shoot and a film and shots that are incredibly heartfelt and beautiful. So a special thank you to them it really was such a pleasure to have you.
The wedding industry may have been strung out to dry recently, and we may not have been here very long. But my god it’s an industry we are so proud to be part of, it really is filled with some of the most talented, creative and passionate people who give their all to make the most memorable and beautiful days to treasure. It may be a wild ride at the mo, but there's no other we'd rather be riding out. A massive thank you to all of the suppliers involved in the shoot…
