WELCOME TO SOMETHING NEW

Wildly romantic the Lovable Old Barn and 17th century Low Hall farmhouse are set within beautifully rustic grounds in a luscious corner of the Lake District. Looking out over the dramatic Lakeland fells, with an enchanting woodland and babbling brook, here you will find a hidden and happy little world to make your own. A new venue to the Lake District in 2019 and one not quite like any other. We're not a shiny hotel nor a polished barn, we are a place where you can create your own day and make it actually yours. Dowse it in the things and people you love and have it as colourful or as relaxed and cool as yourselves. If that sounds like a bit of you two, we suggest you come and have a nosy.

INSIDE THE LOVABLE OLD BARN

Dating back over 300 years the Lovable Old Barn is your blank canvas to dress however you wish. Original character swoons over two floors where beautiful exposed Lakeland stone walls, stand solid below grand old beams.

Downstairs, the old cow milking stalls have been converted into the perfect mingling area for reception drinks, your ceremony or wedding breakfast. Rustic tables and benches have been neatly crafted to sit perfectly between the old feeders, where sultry lighting sets the mood alongside some charming original features and a funky bar.

Going upstairs into the eaves, natural light floods in through skylights and two large side windows, which were once used to chuck the hay in. This creating an airy and light space that can seat over 100 guests. Walking through to the Knight's Ruin Bar upstairs, you'll be welcomed by our handcrafted solid oak bar serving local tipples as well as all of your favourites, an impressive cartwheel chandelier and a wonderfully old chesterfield to park your bum. It's a great space to chill if the dancing gets too much and there's even a Juliet balcony, which overlooks the stream and catches the most dreamy of sunsets.

Spot lights and fairy lights are featured throughout to highlight the beams, walls and your decorations, along with ample electricity points, a sound system with microphones and festoon lighting outside. We also include other essentials like your tables, chairs and glassware.  There is a spacious and bright food prep area for your caterers, which has handy access to outside, downstairs and up via a private stairwell.

YOUR CEREMONY

Take your pick from four incredibly romantic areas which are licensed to hold your civil ceremony in or step outside and have your service looking out over the hills or in the magical woodland. Licensed areas include; downstairs in the barn between the old cow stalls, upstairs under the beautiful eaves, in the farmhouse's old, yet super stylish library or in front of the fire in the cosy snug. If you dream of an outdoor wedding, do it! If the clouds roll in last minute, you have the beautiful back up of the barn until they pass. To book a registrar, visit the Cumbria County Council site and make an enquiry under weddings. Someone will get back to you asap.

Alternatively, if you've always dreamed of a church wedding, there are some beautiful historic churches all on our doorstep, so let us know and we can point you in the right direction or let you know of some awesome celebrants.

KIND WORDS BY LOVELY PEOPLE

"Just experienced the most amazing wedding/event venue ever in a breathtaking location in the Lake District. With the stunning barn, which housed the wedding reception, and the fabulous accommodation, this place had a genuine wow factor. Can't thank the hosts, Ben and Francesca, enough for their terrific hospitality. Our bedroom was so beautiful and had the most stunning views ever. An absolute joy in every detail! Simply can't wait to return to this little bit of heaven tucked away in the countryside in the Lakes."
