Hidden in a gloriously wild and tranquil world of its own, you'll find our charming 17th century farmhouse. Steeped in history, every room has been elegantly designed with traditional character, unique flourishes, cool antiques, vibrant art and treasures. Six ensuite bedrooms rest with two beautiful, perfect wine quaffing rooms; a library come dining room and a cosy snug, both with open fires, low beamed ceilings and bare stone walls.

It's an excellent base to explore the less trodden, stunning North lakes of Buttermere, Crummock Water, Loweswater and Ennerdale along with the quaint town of Cockermouth and hiker’s haven, Keswick. But, before you head off exploring there will be a delicious home-cooked breakfast waiting for you downstairs.

Whether taking to a board game by the fire or basking in the garden taking in the rolling fells, you won't find another place quite like it.

Due to our exciting wedding calendar, we won't be doing B&B throughout the year, but please drop us an email to see if there's any nights opening up, whether for just one room or the entire place, if there's a large group of you.

Oh and we welcome all well-behaved, clean-pawed pooches.

Sadly we are not taking B&B bookings at the mo due to another busy year ahead wedding-ing.

Step into our dreamy, deluxe super king room with garden, woodland and babbling brook views and a home-cooked breakfast of deliciousness.

Furnished for ultimate, 'I'm not moving' relaxation, find beautiful antiques, dreamy wallpaper, a whopping big free standing bath for long soaks, an en-suite with tiles to swoon over and lotions to pamper and an outrageously comfy bed. That morning walk you planned, might be delayed.

Sultry, moody and quite the charmer.

Saunter in and soak up the character of this alluring boudoir, built as an extension in late 19th century. Complete with a grand (albeit a wonky) ceiling, period fireplace, vintage furnishings, romantic tones and quirky art. Cocoon yourself in the monster bed or monster bath while indulging in the enticing view, after or before a mighty fine breakfast, it's up to you.

Oh and the ensuite with the big wonderful walk in shower and deep emerald tiles? Well that's rather flipping wonderful too!

And relax. You can't help but feel the calm within this gem.

Warm, welcoming hues and characterful details gracefully reflect the era in which this room was added, late 1800s. Enjoy an abundance of natural light as it beams in through two large sash windows. Delight in either the pretty garden and hilltop view or keep an eye on the Lovable Old Barn's fabulous proceedings. With its neat and elegant ensuite and shower, pretty antique dresser and old open fireplace, you'll find a cosy home within.

*Tales have told this bedroom was once not a bedroom at all, quite the opposite in fact, as it played host to many a roaring party around one man and a piano.

Delight in our elegantly demure super king room that can also be made into a twin.

With a pretty traditional Victorian fire place, cracking views of the Lakeland Fells, a bathroom filled with goodies and a bed big enough for three, dream away your mornings listening to the birds chirp away, before one heck of a tasty breakfast.

Hello handsome!

Check out and into our King size bedroom with style to suit. Weigh up the day's hike from your big comfy bed surrounded little luxuries, original quirks, wonky floor and all. Then truly set yourself up with a damn fine home-cooked breakfast.

Step into our cosy Lakeland double room with en-suite, mountain views and a dose of fairytale character.

Oak beams and rustic shades reflect the rolling hills and great oak trees that can be seen while enjoying the wonderfully comfy bed. This little gem will have you relaxed and feeling at home in the middle of nowhere. Complete with luxurious toiletries to lather yourself in and a tasty home-cooked breakfast.

"Absolutely lovely, charming and wonderful location for your holidays. It's the hideaway you are looking for in these busy times. Francesca and Ben, with their very warm and welcoming spirits, were wonderful hosts. It felt like coming home from the very first minute we arrived."
