WELCOME IN

Hidden in a gloriously wild and tranquil world of its own, you'll find our charming 17th century farmhouse. Steeped in history, every room has been elegantly designed with traditional character, unique flourishes, cool antiques, vibrant art and treasures. Six ensuite bedrooms rest with two beautiful, perfect wine quaffing rooms; a library come dining room and a cosy snug, both with open fires, low beamed ceilings and bare stone walls.

It's an excellent base to explore the less trodden, stunning North lakes of Buttermere, Crummock Water, Loweswater and Ennerdale along with the quaint town of Cockermouth and hiker’s haven, Keswick. But, before you head off exploring there will be a delicious home-cooked breakfast waiting for you downstairs.

Whether taking to a board game by the fire or basking in the garden taking in the rolling fells, you won't find another place quite like it.

Due to our exciting wedding calendar, we won't be doing B&B throughout the year, but please drop us an email to see if there's any nights opening up, whether for just one room or the entire place, if there's a large group of you.

Oh and we welcome all well-behaved, clean-pawed pooches.

Sadly we are not taking B&B bookings at the mo due to another busy year ahead wedding-ing.

Warm, welcoming hues and characterful details gracefully reflect the era in which this room was added, late 1800s. Enjoy an abundance of natural light as it beams in through two large sash windows. Delight in either the pretty garden and hilltop view or keep an eye on the Lovable Old Barn's fabulous proceedings. With its neat and elegant ensuite and shower, pretty antique dresser and old open fireplace, you'll find a cosy home within.

*Tales have told this bedroom was once not a bedroom at all, quite the opposite in fact, as it played host to many a roaring party around one man and a piano.

"Absolutely lovely, charming and wonderful location for your holidays. It's the hideaway you are looking for in these busy times. Francesca and Ben, with their very warm and welcoming spirits, were wonderful hosts. It felt like coming home from the very first minute we arrived."
